On my own NT4 SP6 system NTP version 4.2.0 works correctly. This came
from the file ntp-4.2.0-nt.zip from Terje Mathisen at:
http://norloff.org/ntp/dev/
I see Terje has removed that file, but does have version 4.2.0 in
ntp-4.2.0-2003-12-01-nt.zip. Perhaps that will help Anders.
Interesting. I can't imagine what would have changed to cause this. As
it is I'm not sure what's really wrong. We do know that the SOCKCMP
macro fails only on NT 4.0 even though it's the same binary as W2K and WXP.
