There is a big difference between the name by which the code is invoked and
what code is running.

As Tom has said, many vendors install ntpd (V4) code and make a link between
xntpd and ntpd (or flat-out install ntpd as xntpd) for backward
compatibility with other scripts.

It is a non-issue.

This is exactly the same reason why we get so much pushback whenever I try
and change the installation directory for some of the code from bin/ to
sbin/.
