The data are returned using the rv command directed to the host reporting the version. Generally, this is the local host, but it can be retrieved from elsewhere.

I did a stupid thing for not asking for this information in the first

ntpq "version" and "processor" information is included with the query.

Do you mean the version and processor of the server being queried not
not the version of ntpq being used? I assume you do. That can be done by
adding -c rv to the ntpq command line.
