OK, I accept that in principle, but: - is there a known error in that version which would cause it to become unstable? As the software had been OK until last Friday, why should it suddenly become not OK? Would the arrival of a leap second indicator cause instability in one copy and yet other PCs continue to function correctly? It doesn't sound right to me. - which version would you suggest using? - where to obtain it? Given that: - Terje's most recent version is: ntp-dev-4.2.0a-20040319-nt.zip. - Meinberg's is a ready-to-install package, whereas I just want .exe files I can copy - the installation is already done. - I wouldn't trust compiling it myself.
