Some Linux kernels for PCs which decide to use the PIT/TSC for time
keeping can experience severe time drift when run on dual-core
processors. Without going into the reasons why this happens, it's
better to use other time sources by disabling the PIT/TSC as a
candidate through the "notsc" boot option.
