It's probably more complicated than that. I suggest running the experiment. What sort of accuracy are you looking for? Milliseconds? Microseconds? How stable is the temperature at the client? ntp assumes that the network delay is symmetric. That works badly if you have something like a DSL link that is mostly idle but occasionally busy in one direction for long periods of time while you download a CD.
