May you can sit down and wrap your mind around ~70,000 lines of code that someone else, or several someone elses wrote. It's not easy and it takes a while! I once tried to figure out the Motorola Oncore driver. There was damned little to tell you what all the variables represented. Comments were somewhere between sparse and nonexistent! I had to give up. If you don't work for Dave Mills there is nothing to stop you from making any changes you wish!
