It doesn't have the date.

GPRMC is the only one I know of with both time and date.


So you should really have GPRMC for the initial sync (and possible large jump), then GPGGA afterwards. :-)

Using the default max 1000 seconds offset, the date isn't really needed, except to sanity-check the current local date.
