Some computer serial ports will work on TTL voltage levels. But TTL is outside of the RS232 spec. I used a converter. The common MAX chip works well. You need to add a DB-9 connector to whatever box holds the UT+. I found a DB-9 socket with the MAX chip and other parts all soldered together. makes t easy and only about $4 on eBay I think you'll also need an hex inverter chip as the RS232 spec uses low the 1 and high for 0 but the UT+ uses the other more common TTL convention. I used this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAX232-RS232-TTL-Converter-Adapter-Module-Board-New-/260838066800?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbb290a70#ht_3762wt_1019 (that's ebay item 260838066800 if the above link does not work) -- Chris Albertson Redondo Beach, California _______________________________________________ questions mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ntp.org/listinfo/questions
