ntpd is already plenty complicated.

ntpd does not behave exactly as ntpdate originally did.

Over time, ntpdate was used to effect two different tasks:

- set the time once, quickly
- set the time once, well

sntp can set the time once, quickly.

ntpd can set the time once, well.
