Tried that and got
"ldattach: cannot set line discipline: Invalid argument"
I notice that there is a comment on one of the web pages that said that 
the pps was included in 2.6.34 and later kernels. So I am not sure if
this "pps_core" module does what it is supposed to. I also do not have
the
timepps.h file anywhere.
