  The usual method is to give it a good starting time at boot. You can too that 
by adding a battery (or cap) backed RTC chip and setting the system clock to 
that time before NTP starts. That will speed up convergence. If your embedded 
system is linux, the command , hwclock, is your friend.


Yea -- that'll probably come eventually (there's currently no RTC on this 
board).

But as I emailed to Gary Miller -- I think I have a temp solution doing what 
you  mentioned -- that delay at boot.
