Dear All,
Using LEO/MEO satellites to carry the Internet has become quite prevalent. The
main challenges lie in factors such as changes in the signal-to-noise ratio
between satellites and the ground, beam switching, solar outages, blockages,
and dynamic inter-satellite topologies. These factors lead to packet loss,
delay jitter, and high dynamicity of bandwidth. Affected by these factors, on
the one hand, the transmission rate is significantly impacted; on the other
hand, the bandwidth of satellite networks cannot be fully utilized.
Based on the above understanding, we will organize a side meeting on Monday,
July 21, 9:45-11:00 AM , hoping to reach some consensus on the problems and
related requirements.
