In curl we just accepted the challenges and did the work. Sure h3 is quite different than than h2 and h1 but users don't need to care about that to any particular degree if we do our job right.

However, even as we did our job and have offered h3 since mid 2019, it has not been enabled in many curl builds in distros everywhere until quite recently. This, because of OpenSSL's dominant position as TLS library and them taking forever until they finally introduced a QUIC API.

Still today, the curl flavors for example Microsoft and Apple bundle and ship with their operating systems do not have HTTP/3 enabled.
