A good suggestion for further debugging. However, I'm not as confident with Plone/Quills (or Python for that matter) as I would like to be, so I don't have too high hopes of success. Also, I just heard this morning that the project for which I needed to fix this issue will be postponed indefinately due to lack of funding. While I'm therefore no longer in need of a nice and clean solution for this issue, it would still be nice to help locate and fix this bug (if indeed it is a bug).
