Ahhh.. <hears the sound of a penny dropping...>
I'm getting there... Albeit slowly... I'll have to explore all of
this a bit further, and may take you up on your kind offer to contact
you directly :)
This sounds much more interesting now. Would be wonderful to have
access to the fundamentals, but as you point out, fundamental
screening can be pre-processed in QP before importing list files into
the Lab. Find the fundamentally qualifying stocks in QP first, then
place that list in WL for further technical scans. Of course, I can
see an issue where any list that might pass a *current* day
fundamental scan in QP may well preclude former strong stocks for the
purposes of backtesting and building a trading system. Similarly, any
current list generated out of QP may include stocks that were
previously "dogs" from a testing point of view. In any case, I'll
ponder all of this over the next few days.
I'll have to look at how my type of trading and testing will work with
this combo of software, but I hold fairly high hopes that what I want
to do can be facilitated by these programs - there will be work
arounds, I'm confident. I can see a couple of "gaps" in what I want
to achieve with the stronger tools available via WL (sector analysis,
for example), but will investigate thoroughly before bothering you
again. But thanks mate, from an Aussie wanting to move towards to US
stocks.
Your help has been invaluable, and has remedied several sticking
points. You're a champ.
Cheers, Matt.
