No I'm referring to the directory 
libs/3rdparty/gaim
in qutecom 2.2
This seems to be version 2.0.0 according to ChangeLog.
No libpurple. No pidgin.
Maybe we're missing something in the current qutecom here?
Or was libpurple integrated on the trunk instead of 2.2 branch?

The reason we think an update of the gaim libs would make sense is that
on a debian Etch system I can successfully chat via MSN with gaim, while
our build of qutecom can't even register (it hangs in a half-registered
state where the peer can see me but qutecom still thinks it isn't
registered). When the peer talks to me qutecom dumps core.
And there are other issues with other IM protocols.
So I wanted to try to link to the debian system libs

Note that debian etch still has gaim and libgaim 2.0.0 too but there are
always debian-specific patches that could make the difference...
