Hi. You're hearing two sounds because of local being on. Go to the midi
menu (alt m) and find the option called local off. If that doesn't fix it,
then your keyboard does not properly respond to local on/off messages.
However if it does and you can then successfully change patches, you're
well on your way to creating your first track, I hope.

nope it didnt work. i am thinking maybe it is because i dont have the
right kind of keyboard even though this cassio one is classified as a
midi keyboard.

well i selected track 1. and switched the instrument to the lead
square synth. it didnt change in the keyboard, maybe if i insert as
a midi when i record, it will reflect my changes.

Hi, have you set the channel on the track to something other than 0 or
10? Channel 0 is, well, I'm not sure, but channel 10 is the drums.
Channels 1-9 can be used for anything, and you should be able to hear
the change in instruments when you select them or insert them as midi
events in the track. Hope that helps.

hey a friend told me the difference between all of these things in
qws. the only problem is that my keyboard is a casio, and when i
select general gm instrument, it lists all the instruments on my
keyboard. however when i create a new track, when i scroll through
the instruments, the instrument that is on the keyboard does not
change at all. anyone know y this is?

Hi James,
I wish you a happy hollyday.
It's good with some vacation once in a while.
Ah yes off course these can be keyed in, but you know.
Opening an excel spreech sheet and searching for a particular sound
takes so much time.
See you soon.

Hi Brian,
I am going on holiday as from tomorrow, for several weeks - so
won't be able to do any work on instrument lists or QWS while I'm
away - Now you know why I wanted to get the QWS 1.52 released.
It would probably be best if you send the Tyros 2 file to me again -
closer to when I get back - at the end of November.
We already have a Tyros instrument list on the QWS website. Does
that go some way with the Tyros 2?
For smaller or very complex projects I use QWS as my favorit
editor, but since i got the Tyros 2 I don't have this option
anymore.
Can I ask, why can't you use QWS any more with your Tyros 2? You
can always enter program and bank numbers with or without an
instrument list present.
Anyway, I'd better sign off, I've got some packing to do.
James.
