I tried the soundfonts you mentioned quite awhile ago.
Oh, and I was fooled about Vienna being inaccessible. I was really thinking of
Viena, which is an entirely different soundfont editor which is in its beta
stages. I'll try Vienna when I figure out whether Viena is at least somewhat
usable or not.

Hi, um, what's inaccessible about vienna.
Why not just do yourself a favour and grab a couple of good sound fonts
already created.
Try personal copy, I like version 5.1, google:
pc51+soundfont
or similar.
Or fluid if you have the ram for it.

This is a little off topic, but I have a dozen or so free GM soundfonts
which have some pretty good instruments, but not every GM soundfont has all the
goodies. I was planning to take my favorite patches out of my stack of
soundfonts and put them in one, maybe even create my own soundfont with my own
patches. Any decent soundfont editors allowing me to do things like this? All
I've heard of is Vienna (don't know if I spelled that right), but although it
sounds promising I can't even find help files for it!
What do you recommend?
