Hi. I hope this doesn't go too off topic, but I didn't know where else
to go. I've come very close to getting things set up just right. I
noticed that vsthost won't let me play anything else over the sound
device, perhaps an ASIO issue. I realized I had to load a plugin into a
specific port for
the metronome. I wanted to just use the general metronome sound and play that
over the soundcard, but oh well. Even if I could figure out how to concurrently
use the sound device (an M-Audio USB Mobilepre) I still want to use multiple
plugins. I also use stupid JAWS 8.0.

The trouble began when I accidently unselected all the MIDI Device
Inputs in vsthost, instead of selecting it under the plugins | MIDI
Channels option. I thought I could just reenable them properly, but now
all the list boxes have become inaccessible. Shift-f8 doesn't work like
it did, I can only do stupid mouse clicks, not pretty. I tried
reclassing the window but to no avail. I installed a fresh copy of
vsthost, and found the listboxes again accessible. I set up the midi
devices properly, then loaded a plugin and set that up. As soon as I
loaded the second plugin, all the listboxes became inaccessible again.

I wondered if any other JAWS users
have found away around this annoyance? ALternatively, does a better
vsthost exist? By better, I mean more accessible, and also free.
Thanks.
