Right now, I'm trying to set up the instrument file for the Roland
XV-5050 and the SRX board.
How is the syntax when there are more then a patch and a bank?
Which particular srx board are we talking about here? I have the xv-5050
and two of the SRX boards and from experimentation I already can tell you
where most of them start.
Bare in mind I have not done anything with my XV in over a year and a half
so my numbering might be a bit off, but from what I remember anyway, here's
a possible list.
Some boards have more than one bank, so it is possible you will have to
guess for yours, but it will not be difficult.
SRX1 should start if I remember, at 11900.
2, 11901.
3, 11903.
4, 11904.
5, 11905. 5, 6 and 7 have more than one bank and so I do not know where 6
starts, but I have 7 in my possession and know that it starts at 11915.
This would suggest that 5 and6, or just 5, or just 6, have a lot of banks on
those cards.
For the drums of the SRx banks, and even for the stock XV sounds, you must
minus 128 from the bank number.
So, 11915 (SRX7) becomes 11787.
To figure out where your SRX fits in, if this information has not helped you
at all, set up a track as follows and then increase the bank until you find
the sound.
Channel of your choice.
Program 0.
Volume 100, pan 64, reverb anywhere, 40 for example, chorus 0, bank 11900.
OK that track, then re-enter track properties, go to the bank and increase
the bank until you find your sounds.
When you know what the bank is, you can start adding that information to
your INI file for QWS and hopefully that will be successful for you.
Hope that helps, and hopefully I haven't forgotten my elementary Roland
mathmatics.
