If you want to see beats and bars, instead of just position numbers, try
View -> Display Units -> bar.

And, to quote a famous line from the Hitchhiker's Guide, is there any
way of stopping it? Every other piece of MIDI sequencing software I've
ever used, including back to DOS days, always began with 1:1:1. Every
time I sit down at QWS, I have to remember to subtract 1 from
everything. Of course, if there was a good reason for this, I'm all
over retraining my wrong thinking.
