Okay, you can scrub pitch bend like any other controller -- there's a
controller code for it, but I don't remember it right now. Check with the
manual and it'll tell you which one to use to make them go away.
Sixteen violin tracks with different channels will take up an entire port,
but chances are good he's doing bends for everything on the track, so you
might be able to remove the messages and do a single track transpose to get
things sounding right.
I'd be curious to find out why he thinks this level of effort has any
benefit to the sound.

Sadly, they're not in another track, they're part of a track. And I agree
it's weird, he even has 16 different violin tracks.

Yes, if they're in another track then delete that track. I can't imagine why
anyone would want to do things the way you relayed, as there's nothing wrong
with a unison and what he's doing gets the same result with a lot more work.

Thanks. And if that doesn't work, is there a way to just get rid of all the
pitchbended notes? I'm happy to delete them all if that's easier as well as
they're in another track anyway.

Yeah, that's a potential mess, as different synths have different pitchbend
settings. Find out what pitchbend range his instrument is using, then set up
an RPN to set your device to that value, assuming it's responsive to RPN
commands. (And if you need to find out what RPN commands are do a web
search, as there are several very good articles on the web about them)

Subject: QWS List Question about pitchbends

Hello everyone! First of all, I've been working with this program for a few
months now and really, really love it. I'm very glad this exists.

So. I recently got a MIDI file from someone who likes working with
pitchbend. Long story short, he didn't want two notes on top of each other
to sound bad, so he solved that by writing the second notes in pitchbend
mode. They should play correctly, but my virtual midisynth can't handle
them. So, a C is written as a D, but should be played as a C etc. The
trouble is, the pitchbends are all over the place. Now I'm wondering, is
there an easy way for me to undo this stupid effect? I have already tried to
delete the 130 controller, but that doesn't help because it doesn't correct
the notes. All I want is to have the notes as they are supposed to be
played, so a C needs to be written as a C. I'm not really looking forward to
going through 50 tracks note by note to sort this mess out.

Best wishes, Vincent
