Hi Brian.
No worries. I’ve done things like that so many times I can’t count. One time I
just about reinstall the driver because I thought it was broken, but then I
realized that I had forgotten to unplug my keyboard from my PC and plug it into
my Mac. Chuckle.

God bless!

Hi Seth, Have you ever felt such an idiot and tried to get something to work,
and it doesn’t work because of something you’ve forgotten to do, like wondering
why the TV or radio isn’t working because you forgot to plug it in? Well, I am
that idiot. You hit the nail right on the head regarding why my midi files
wouldn’t play. I had forgotten that the last time I used the computer with my
Roland keyboard I had used the synchronise button. For some reason I suppose I
expected everything like like that to return to a default setting. Well, I
booted up the computer, unchecked the synchronise setting, and away it went.
I’ll go back to the bottom of the class and remember to check in future. Thanks
for you advice.
Thanks from someone who feels such a fool.
Brian

There are a lot of things to consider with this issue: first, when you’re in
QWS, did you make sure the sink start function is not enabled? If it is, you
have to hit a key or move a controller after hitting the space bar in order to
hear midi playback. Press control wide to turn it on and off.
Second, what software or hardware synthesizer are you using? For example,
Microsoft GS wave table, coolsoft, bassmidi, Yamaha motif, etc. If you suspect
there might be an issue with your synthesizer, try setting one of the tracks to
a different port and see if it plays back.
As for system midi volume in Windows, I have no idea where you would find that.

God bless!

Hi all, Using windows 10, When using the note editor in QWS the notes will
play when I confirm each note or play each note when using tab right arrow.
However following a recent windows update QWS won’t play any midi files when
I press spacebar. I have
Uninstalled the program and reinstalled, no change. In the past I had a problem
on previous laptops where midi volume would curiously reset itself to 0.
However I can no longer seem to find a setting in sound controls to change midi
volume separately. Is it hidden in some obscure corner of system settings?
Please Can anyone advise?
Brian
