Hi Jerry, Thanks for the bio…and sorry I haven’t replied before now. Have been driving the motorhome and while doing that I don’t fiddle with electronics.
Lot of interesting stuff.. Was quite interested when you mentioned the KWS-1. I bought a KWS-1 from an Air Force officer who was shipping out. It was complete and came with spares. It didn’t work and I was all of 19 years old and had little electronics experience and no test equipment. It was a beautiful piece of equipment. I was still living at home in a 10x12 bedroom. Had to part with it a couple of years later to get married and move into a small apartment. Wish I still had it and the matching receiver to make up the gold dust twins. Now days they are very expensive…. Think I traded mine for a National NC-183D and a couple pieces of Heathkit test gear. (1978) Later traded the National for a Hallicrafters SX-101 mkIII….still have that. I’m 66 and retired as an IT Analyst with a large electric utility in the SE US. 73 Cecil K5DL Sent from my iPad > On Nov 7, 2022, at 7:41 PM, [email protected] wrote: > > I've been licensed amateur since 1963 and spend part of my free time > restoring old rigs, mainly Collins A-line and S-line.
