Hi all, I've experienced the subject problems before and have been asked about them, too. As I was working on a different project on my 390A, I decided that I should fix these issues on my rx before I continued. So, I first started by reading through the Pearls a lot. There were plenty of very good informative posts on the subject. The information I read confirmed that my AGC was working correctly, except for the two subject issues. The Carrier Level (CL) meter I've been using for many years is a 17 ohm coil meter, correct for the original 390A specs, so I know that was not the issue. At any rate, I was able to fix both issues.
I documented my experience on our website, so that others interested can resolve these two issues, if they like. It really was not that difficult and my CL meter now behaves very close to the graph in the TM11-856A. Here's a link to my document in the 'Repair Tutorials' section in the 'References' page on our r-390a.net website: R390A Fix Non-Linear or Low Deflecting Carrier Level Meter <https://www.r-390a.net/R390A%20Fix%20Non-Linear%20CL%20Mtr.pdf> Regards, Larry ______________________________________________________________ R-390 mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/r-390 Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
