Hi Barry, you are right, but measured from the shoulder to the end of threads, that gives 0.568 inch. I also have another screw that measures 0.510 in. that way, but it seems too short to fit.

The length of a cap screw is typically from the shoulder to the end of the threads. I think the screw you're showing is the same length as John's.
