Kielbasa works only when washed down with copious amounts of beer...
I'll miss you, and will be following you down the path soon to wherever it is when we shed ourselves of something that has been a labor of love for so many years. I no longer own any Boat Anchors or tube radios with the exception of a 1940 RCA 19K Console in the living room. Much of the programming from days gone by, BBC, Radio Netherlands, Deutsche Welle, Radio Switzerland International, and dozens of others that have removed their programming. Some have put it on the internet, while others just removed it, never to return. The last two receivers in the shack are an Icom 756 ProIII that has had the BCB attenuation network removed, and a loaded Racal RA6790/GM(R-2174A) with every option known to man. Keep this list going as there will always be a newbie looking for information or assistance. Sadly there will be fewer R-390XX receivers tomorrow than today and somewhere in the future it will be looked upon as an oddity and people will wonder why would anybody want something that is that heavy and cumbersome... Hi all, Well the time has come for me to step aside as The R390
website admmin. It's hard to believe, but I picked this up from Al 5
years ago. I'm very emotional about leaving the admin job, but your
new admin has excellent experience and is very conscientious, so he'll
do an excellent job. It's Mike Peace. His email is
mike.peace'at'gmail.com. Although he's fairly new to posting on our
email reflector, he's knowledgeable about a lot of the R390 receivers.
The transition will be today.

Thank you all for the great support you have given to me over the
years. I am NOT quitting the group and will be listening for years to
come as I'm able to have internet access.

I'm going to have some Kielbasa now to calm me down. I do miss a lot
of the old timers that have retired from posting, but we have a lot of
very nice newbies to help the group keep going. I hope that the
contributions I've made will help keep the tubes glowing. Long live
the R390s..

Regards, Larry

I'll be moving to a different home in a few months and will be without
internet services to watch and care for our website. This is an
unexpected decision I had to make. My plan is to move about 30 miles
south of my current south San Jose Ca. location, but have not found a
home there, yet.

The experience needed for administration is not that much and I can
guide you the way, but I only have a couple months to do it. The
reliability of it has been outstanding, so it takes very little time,
but someone needs to be available just in case. I've written a small
document about this and will send it to anyone interested. Please let
me know soon. Thank you.

Regards, Larry
