Jerry,

I’m a member of several shortwave related .io groups and have experience with
that format. Moving to and keeping the R-390 group on .io has two significant
problems I’ve observed with the functioning of those groups which can and need
to be addressed if this group moves,

1.) .io interface is only seen as easy to use by those who have suffered
through the learning curve. Yes, it’s easier the learning curve one suffered
with MS-DOS, but not by much. Very clearly written instructions for setting up
your account making adjustments need to be easy accessed by potentially new and
current group members. Please do not assume that any one person can
successfully write the needed clear directions. Several persons need to be
involved and after completion, the instructions need to be “proofed” by
in-person monitoring of several persons new-to-.io, following the instructions
as notes for corrections / revisions are noted.

2.) Next, I’ve observed many roadblocks to a successful contribution process
which are self-inflicted by the person who has initially set up the group.
Absolute mayhem resulting in mass frustration in many cases. As easy process
allowing contributions by Paypal and mailed checks is a must.

I am willing to contribute.
