This list is passive...don't be surprised if you lose many subscribers switching over....There's a reason it has so many subscribers still enjoying the posts, having long since sold their A/Non A's but still have the knowledge.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

List,
Every once in a while some one comes up with a "Wiz-Bang" idea for the current list
procedure.  The "Wiz-Bang" idea might work well for those who are into some finer points.
I've been a member for 20 years and have tried to contribute what skills I have.
I believe keeping the list as is what should be done.  As it is I can post
ski's and articles as well as find past information easily.
While some members say they will support the change financially, this now but
what about years done the road?
Registration? Sub files?  The list has been able to share all technical
knowledge just as the list is now.
We do have passive members for various reasons, however they are valuable to "spread
the word" or come across some little change that makes something much easier than
before.
For example: there was quite  discussion about torque values needed for clamps. This not
in the Tech manuals. When I worked on "A"'s in 1963 to 1966 we did what we
thought was OK.
Member Glen Scott who has made a living re-maning and reselling "A"'s and other high end
gear for 25 years, wrote on the list about using a torque meter to insure clamps did not slip or
crack. IIRC, some responders were less than respectful to someone who is a professional.  Glen has
done more "A"'s than anyone by a country mile. Members may disagree but at least they
should listen to a proven professional and keep snide comments off list.
Both Dallas Langford and Jerry Johnson quit the the list because of smart-alec
disrespect.
I believe we need the list to stay as it is. Simple. Easily accessible with
search engines.
Since I've turned north of 85, any changes won't really affect me. I'm in the
process of selling 2 R388's, 8 SP 600's, and high end test equipment at fire
sale prices.
If anyone wants to ask what I've contributed, please contact me off list and
I'll be glad to reply.
