I was able to reproduce the problem under Windows (R 2.6.1). When running ir4 <- isoreg(1:10, y4 <- c(5, 9, 1:2, 5:8, NA, 8)), the following message appears:
"R for Windows GUI front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" after which R closes.
