Dear Mr Ligges,
Thank you for your reply. I'd like to apologize if you were so angry and
offended with a new R user's misreporting of bugs. Prof. Ripley of Oxford has
let me know that the phenomenon wasn't a bug already. Thank you for taking the
trouble of telling me again.
  Regards,
  Charles

Nuber two for today: This is *not* a bug!!!
Please read the R FAQ on what a bug is and how to report it. For
questions, please ask on R-help *after* reading the mailinglist's
  posting guide.

Please check your startup environment and try to start with "--vanilla",
  for example.

  work anymore.
