Hi Sandip, you are right on SUSE 11 I found Fortran 4.3 but I installed also Fortran 3.3 and tried to install R under gcc33 with compilation errors. After this I installed after an advice from Prof Brian R 2.2 (old Version from 2005) and got the same problems with gcc33 and gcc. after the command ldconfig -p ./configure make make install worked fine and I could start R
I guess after ldconfig I shared all the needed libraries again. But this is only a assumption. Fact is R works now and I will try the installation also with R 3..0.2. I hope the trick with ldconfig helps.
