R build is making a GSL version of BLAS in /usr/local/lib ? Also, for some
reason, gcc does not properly recognize its flags.
Now this looks like a --without-blas build. I am using ATLAS from fink (somewhat
reluctantly, because I should be using BLAS from the vecLib framework), and this
may explain the difference.
I'll try --without-blas, but with ATLAS R-1.6.2beta_2002-12-25 builds fine. Also,
justbchechking for the gcc, I have
