R crashes when installing package from CRAN (from the menu). The bug seems to be reproducible, at least on my system:
1. Open R 2. Install package from CRAN: install 1 package 3. Back to R: delete file ("y" at the prompt) and wait till package is fully installed 4. Go back to the menu "Install package from CRAN" then R crashes
This isn't reproducible on my system, also running XP Pro. Can you reproduce on a different machine?

I just reproduced it on a system where Win XP Pro was just installed (from scrash) and where I installed R for the purpose of testing the error. I did not install DrMingw yet and cannot give more precision. I am connected to the Interned with an ADSL modem.
