With a new checkout of R-devel, I'm getting the following error on
startup:
Type 'demo()' for some demos, 'help()' for on-line help, or
'help.start()' for a HTML browser interface to help.
Type 'q()' to quit R.
Error in open.connection(con, "rb") : unable to open connection
In addition: Warning message:
cannot open compressed file
`/home/jgentry/R-1.9.0/library/methods/R/all.rda'
> search()

".GlobalEnv" "package:stats" "package:graphics" "package:utils"
[5] "Autoloads" "package:base"
Warning message:
package methods in options("defaultPackages") was not found
This is happening on Linux (RH7.2, RH9.0) and Solaris 8.
