As the subject says, the first alpha release of R 1.9.0 is now available from
http://cran.us.r-project.org/src/base/R-1.9.0alpha_2004-03-07.tar.gz Subsequent alpha and beta releases will be made daily at 5 am local Wisconsin time (==11 am UTC).
