Well, he can't be reached through R-bugs either, and more importantly, he 
cannot deal with the entry in the R-bugs repository (only R-core members 
can alter it).  So it really was pointless sending a report on fdim to 
R-bugs.

You didn't mention that you had failed to contact the maintainer in your 
report.
