*Java Developer* *Parsipanny, NJ* *12+ month/ Contract* *Phone and In Person* *Need 10+ years software development experience* Job Description : - Understand existing systems before producing code - Produce code that is well-architected, clearly decoupled maintainable and secure - Create web services and middle tier codes - Demonstrate adherence to excellent design principles as well as understanding what makes a secure and efficient system - Develops programming applications in an agile development environment - Work and understand end user requirements; and translates business requirements in to state of the art technical solutions - Works with other teams and specialists within the organization - Identify the scope of an area of development work, to recognize and understand the potential impact on other areas and to provide accurate time estimates to a successful project completion - Provides development support to existing applications *Education*: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or mathematics *Skills/Experience:* *Required:* - 4 + years of experience in application design and development in Java - Experience in developing Java Web Services using JAX-WS, JAX-RS, JBossWS (AS7) or Apache CXF framework - Experience with Web Services security and Java security layer - Experience and proficiency in SOA applications - Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with other teams - Strong communication and problem-solving skills - Very good attention to detail - Ability to produce clear and concise documentation - Experience working with end users - Travel Domestic/International less than 10% *Required Technical Competencies:* - Java 1.6 or higher, JSF, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, AJAX, JQUERY, OO Design & OO Programming, Eclipse IDE, JUnit, XML Technologies, JAX-WS, JAX-RS *Preferred Technical Competencies:* - Tamino XML Database *MAKE SURE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS **--this is a 1 yr assignment and can go longer* *Questions to ask/Notes:* - Have you created Java Web Services from scratch? Someone must be able to create Java Web Services from scratch, not referring to anything else from a prior application. If they only have experience consuming and not creating then they will not be a fit for this role. - Have you created Java Web Services using JAX-WS and JAX-RS? They must have this type of Web Services experience. - Do you have at least 3 years of Web Services Experience? A minimum of 3 years are required. - Do you have experience with Java 1.6 or higher? If they have only used versions less than 1.5, they will not be considered for the role. - Do you have experience implementing Java Web Services using JBoss (AS7) or Apache CXF? We currently use JBoss AS7 Server so this is preferred but we are willing to take someone on with Apache CXF if they do not have JBoss experience. - We will not consider anyone with just .Net Web Services. If they have Java Web Services and .Net Web Services then we will consider them if they fill the other criteria listed. - Must have Agile experience - Experience/Proficiency in SOA Applications - There is only one Java Developer and no other team members to rely on so they must be able to work independently.
