*SQL BI Developer * *Farmington, CT* *6+ month/ Contract* *Phone and In Person* *Required :* *They must be able to go in person after the phone interviews ;Insurance backgrounds* *My client is in the health insurance field---that is a big plus* *Purpose: The ETL/BI Developer plays a crucial role in our technology team* As an ETL Developer, you will help design, build, and implement solutions while adhering to design and development best practices. You will participate in the design and development of system integrations, and help ensure a cohesive architecture between internal and external-facing systems. The ETL/ BI Developer will employ a variety of technologies, enjoys solving technical challenges and coming up with creative solutions, and is comfortable working in a collaborative environment. *KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:* 1. Develops Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes to acquire and load data from internal and external sources. 2. Responsible for guidelines and standards for ETL usage, manageability and maintainability 3. Develop, enhance and maintain t reports, report definitions and dashboards and metadata layers 4. Build and support database models to support ETL, reports, dashboards, reports and BI packages. 5. Responsible for executing the daily and/or monthly production ETL process that support the Enterprise Data Warehouse environment. 6. Works in cross functional teams to assist with gathering and evaluating detailed project requirements to support delivery of effective business intelligence 7. Construct and design documents and documentation to aid in maintenance and code reuse in accordance with team processes and standards. 8. Develop strong working relationships with managers and analysts. 9. Participate in code reviews in accordance to standards. 10. Analyze data needs and independently develop logical and physical data models. 11. Coordinate the implementation of database application components. 12. Interact with key partners and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues, and infrastructure integration. 13. Understand and work with data in with varying degrees of complexity and scale. 14. Coordinate and participate in application testing and quality inspections. *TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:* 1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience. 2. Microsoft Certifications and Training or equivalent experience a plus 3. Insurance industry experience is a plus 4. SQL Server 2008 (or newer), SQL Server 2008 administration, Reporting Services, Integration Services, T-SQL 5. Strong data modeling, data normalization, database security, T-SQL skills and XML knowledge 6. 6 to 8 years’ experience with Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server. 7. 6 to 8 years’ experience in developing procedures, packages and functions in DW environment. 8. 4 to 6 years’ experience in tuning SQL Queries for performance. 9. Effective communication skills – oral, written and presentation 10. Familiarity with FTP, SFTP, PGP and basic Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008/2014 administration 11. NET Framework, ASP.NET <http://asp.net/>, C# is a plus 12.
