Hello, There's a new package ceramic to download online imagery tiles.
Download imagery tiles to a local cache and load the data into raster objects. Facilities are provided for Amazon 'AWS' terrain https://aws.amazon.com/public-datasets/terrain/ and Mapbox images and terrain https://www.mapbox.com/. Use of Mapbox requires obtaining an API key and setting it locally, functions that require this key provide information on doing this if a valid key is not found. Tiled imagery may be downloaded and cached by providing a spatial extent in several possible formats, with optional control over provider, tile type, format and zoom. Direct access to load a raster image will trigger the tile download and caching, if required. The release 0.6.0 of ceramic is available on CRAN: https://CRAN.R-project.org/package=ceramic The development repository of ceramic is hosted on GitHub: https://github.com/hypertidy/ceramic Thank you. -- Michael Sumner Software and Database Engineer Australian Antarctic Division Hobart, Australia e-mail: [email protected] [[alternative HTML version deleted]] _______________________________________________ R-packages mailing list [email protected] https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-packages ______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list -- To UNSUBSCRIBE and more, see https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-help PLEASE do read the posting guide http://www.R-project.org/posting-guide.html and provide commented, minimal, self-contained, reproducible code.
