In some cases, when fitting a simple OLS regression, I obtain an
estimated beta coefficient that is very small—for example, 0.00034—yet
it still appears statistically significant based on the p-value.



to me a statistically significant difference between
two treatment groups is always worth reporting, if only
because the treatments may have more than one effect.
One biological parameter was chosen to be the
response but maybe it is not the right one. A small
difference is a hint that something maybe more important
is going on.
