<PRE>I am looking for suggestions for a good Database Management System to use with R. The main use of this will be to format, query and make subsets of large datafiles for use in R. I recall reading a comparative write-up either in the newsletter, in the mails or someone's webpage last summer, but cant seem to find it now. I will be thankful if someone can help in locating such a document. For the DBMS it will be nice if it is a good database system to learn independent of its integration with R. My preference will be something that also works under Linux and has a user-friendly interface.
