Suppose the R source file is at: /disk/R-1.6.2/ and R is installed at: /disk/R/
Which valud is $R_HOME? 1. /disk/ 2. /disk/R-1.6.2 3. /disk/R/ I thought the answer is 3 but not sure. From the manual "R installation and Administration", it says 'Choose a place to install the R tree, let's call this place R_HOME'. Untar the source code. This looks like No.1 is the correct answer because /disk/ is the place to untar the source code. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks very much!
