Hi! RPMS for R-base-1.7.1 have been uploaded to Vienna a few minutes ago. (SuSE 7.3, 8.[012]) They should appear on the CRAN mirror near you soon.
A rebuild of rpms of updated and/or new contrib packages is underway.
