Burns Statistics recently finished the "Technical Analysis Challenge" which was a study of the ability to tell real stock price series from random ones. Some people seem to be finding it a fun game to play (including how best to cheat).
There are 100 series of 500 points each. Each of these series has 4 possible extensions of 50 points each -- one is real the other 3 are random.
On the Burns Statistic website are: * plots of the data * the actual data * the answers * the results from the few that actually made submissions * a report on the results * the advertisement for R related to the challenge
