You could tell us what that did ... that version of S-PLUS (sic) is long obselete and most readers will not have access to it (or any other recent version of S-PLUS). It would appear to be one plus the yday component of a POSIXlt object, so as.POSIXlt(x)$yday + 1 should be equivalent. See ?months for relevant comments. -- Brian D.
