Thanks for your response. I used the command below:
plot(0, 0, type = "n", xlim = c(0, 10), ylim = c(0, 6))
to set the Y axis appropriately and it worked.

You should use ylim.
plot(0, 0, type = "n", xlim = c(0, 10), ylim = c(0, 6))
