Two other possibilities come to my mind : 1) If memory serves, when you un-subscribe using the web interface, you will be sent an email asking for confirmation. Till you click on the link in that email, you will not be un-subscribed. Did you you receive any such mail ? If not, you might want to check your junk mail folder or spam settings.
