Hu, I've found two methods of doing this---1 in R and the other in S-Plus.
1. The S-Plus solution is called graphlets which are a java-based graphics device that allows one to build various types of interactivity into their graphs. 2. The R solution uses the gridSVG package by Paul Murrell. The package is experimental, but I've found it to work nicely. The package can be downloaded from http://www.stat.auckland.ac.nz/~paul/ I'd be interested in knowing others' solutions.
